B2B online marketplace ShelfNow has partnered with New Zealand software company Trackgood to introduce blockchain integration through its intelligent platform to create what the company says is the world’s first blockchain-enabled marketplace. Blockchain integration promotes transparency, sustainability, accountability and ethical trading as buyers can see those involved in the supply chain by scanning a QR code on their smartphone. Documents available include tamper-proof images of the production process, profiles of those involved, quality certificates, lot numbers and travel documents.

Kemitt expands its Egyptian e-commerce offering with a B2B platform

Egyptian e-commerce startup Kemitt has unveiled a B2B platform as part of its ongoing diversification beyond its B2C offering. Kemitt’s online marketplace connects product and furniture designers with consumers by handling manufacturing, overhead and last-mile logistics for these companies. Customers have access to 30,000+ SKUs with an on-demand manufacturing option and 7-12 day delivery services.

ID verification company VerifyMe acquires PeriShip for $10.5 million

Identity verification provider VerifyMe has acquired logistics company PeriShip for $10.5 million. PeriShip provides shipping and logistics management for perishable food and healthcare companies. VerifyMe is paying $7.5 million for the company’s assets, plus $1 million in common stock and a $2 million promissory note. PeriShip’s services include time and temperature sensitive package management, predictive analytics and last mile solutions.

The B2B procurement platform BuyHive is launched in the USA and Great Britain

Hong Kong-based global B2B procurement platform BuyHive has launched local operations in US and UK markets. BuyHive hopes to support the sourcing and sourcing needs of a rapidly expanding third-party base. The company recently unveiled its global Expert Sourcing Network, which enables American and European sellers to hire local experts in all major Asian countries for their sourcing.

Swvl’s acquisition of Volt Lines is expected to close in the second quarter of this year. Volt offers corporate customers across Turkey an alternative to public transport and ride-hailing via intelligently routed shared buses as part of a monthly subscription. It works with more than 110 companies in the region.
