Manhattan College launches Entrepreneurs @ MC, a program to promote student entrepreneurship.
The program is led by the O’Malley School of Business in collaboration with schools across campus and will foster a comprehensive entrepreneurial ecosystem on campus. Students with new business ideas will team up and attend startup workshops, connect with entrepreneur mentors to develop business plans, and compete for startup funding by participating in the college’s unique innovation challenge.
“Entrepreneurs @ MC creates a collaborative environment that drives innovation and new business ideas,” said Donald E. Gibson, dean of the O’Malley School of Business. “Our students will use their business knowledge of product marketing, financial modeling and strategic planning along with technical knowledge of design, functionality and implementation to create award-winning business plans.”
At the helm of this new company is Winston Peters, associate professor of marketing and founding partner of the New York-based consulting firm MyÜberLife Consulting Group.
“We strive to give our students an entrepreneurial energy by providing a portfolio of new ideas,” said Peters. “Entrepreneurs @ MC will empower students to make an innovative impression in the ever-changing business landscape of NYC and beyond.”
Entrepreneurs @ MC was made possible by a gift from alumnus Mike Kelly, Managing Partner of Yellow Thread Ventures and former Founder and CEO of On Call International. Kelly is also a member of the Advisory Board of the O’Malley School of Business.
