The Reinvent This Space competition, run by the community in partnership with the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Center (SBEC), a division of Invest WindsorEssex, will also provide participants with in-depth training and support through the SBEC.

The four finalists include Alissa Enns’ planned plant-based bakery, Aggie Toole’s Lebanese bakery, Cephra Hasfal’s cafe serving East Asian street food, and Aaron Dvernychuk’s artisan ice cream, gelato and frozen dessert shop.

“We received some great business ideas for this year’s Reinvent This Space contest,” said Mayor Hilda MacDonald. “All entries received have something truly unique to offer and would be a great addition to Leamington’s Uptown.”

In the next phase of the competition, finalists will participate in a series of business development workshops to be held in February covering a variety of topics that finalists need to complete a fully fleshed out business plan.

Business plans are submitted and each finalist faces a jury that selects the overall winner in April.

Finalists’ profiles will be published on www.reinventleamington.com.
