Indian online coffee platform to introduce physical store network

E-commerce coffee platform Something’s Brewing plans to roll out brick and mortar stores across India, with the first offline store slated to open next month.

Something’s Brewing’s first physical store will open its doors to the public on October 1st in Bengaluru. The rollout is part of a plan to go offline and expand its physical presence in the country. The company initially raised around $ 677,000 for the expansion plan.

According to Something’s Brewing CEO Abhinav Mathur, 30 brick and mortar stores will open across the country through franchising and self-operated models over the next year. The facility is valued at approximately $ 33,800. Something’s Brewing’s shop is conceived as a place where coffee lovers can prepare different types of roast and blended coffee before purchasing.

Euromonitor International estimated the value of the Indian coffee and retail chain market in 2018 at 2,579 billion rupees, or about $ 350 million. The market is led by Cafe Coffee Day and Tata Starbucks. Founded in 2019, the online platform Something’s Brewing offers coffee accessories and products from more than 40 brands, including Baratza, CoffeeSock, Ratio and Bellman.
