Everyone at Montclair State is here to help your student succeed. Academic support comes in many different forms. Most important, of course, if from their individual professors. It is important to remind your students to connect with their professors both within the classroom and to arrange to meet with their professor during scheduled office hours to discuss questions or concerns.
Here are some of the key academic support services that will encourage your students to use:
Navigate is an online platform that connects your student with their academic advisor. It is important that your students sign up for Navigate and learn how to schedule appointments and review their academic progress.
Center for Academic Success & Tutoring (CAST)
CAST is a great resource for your students. They hold valuable works and offer one-to-one tuition. This is an important resource your students should get to know!
Center for Writing Excellence (CRE)
College requires a lot of paperwork and the CRE is there to help your student. Your student can attend one of their workshops or make an in-person appointment to help with writing their class assignments or even work on their résumé. They have loads of resources online too!
Resource Center for People with Disabilities (DRC)
The DRC offers support for students with physical, sensory, learning, psychological, neurological and chronic medical disabilities. If your student states that they need academic assistance, please encourage them to enroll with the DRC.
There are books and much more! The Sprague Library is a fantastic resource for your student! Librarians are there to assist your students with their research needs. The library has on-site and remote resources. A huge selection of books, magazines, online databases and more. Your student needs to get to know the Sprague Library!
These are just a few of the many academic support resources available to your student. Tell your student to check the Red Hawk News and the Student Services website for information on all the resources available!
